EV Car Charging

What is an EV charging point?

Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points are infrastructure designed to recharge electric vehicles. There are different types of EV charging stations, each providing a different level of charging power. Here are the main types:

Level 1 Charging (120V AC): This is the basic level of charging and typically uses a standard household electrical outlet. It's the slowest method and is suitable for overnight charging at home. Level 1 chargers are commonly used for plug-in hybrids and some electric cars.

Level 2 Charging (240V AC): This type of charging is faster than Level 1 and is commonly found in public charging stations, workplaces, and residential settings. Level 2 chargers can recharge an electric vehicle significantly faster than Level 1 chargers.

DC Fast Charging (Direct Current): DC fast chargers provide a high level of power and can charge an electric vehicle much quicker than Level 1 and Level 2 chargers. They are commonly found along highways, enabling long-distance travel for electric vehicles. DC fast chargers can recharge a significant portion of an electric vehicle's battery in a relatively short amount of time.
